Thank you for taking the time to visit Vantan’s website.
Since our foundation, we have been equipping students to operate in the world of creativity, and spread the concept “design” to Japanese society through such activity.
Vantan’s history consists of creating hitherto unseen, new values in the world inhabited by professions such as designers, hair and makeup artists, stylists, game creators and pastry chefs. Our history is one of creating stages on which young souls can act out their dreams.
It seems to us that in these days, perhaps influenced by the concepts of recession, lower childbirth, the ageing society and unemployment, there are more and more people in the workplace and in schools who no longer have dreams in various situations in their life.
We are not denying the harsh realities-rather, it is true to say that if you choose a creative workplace, it will perhaps be even harsher than a standard one.
But at Vantan, we have always focused on the training of creative people, and there is a consistent philosophy behind this focus.
Our philosophy is based on the desire to equip young people who shape our future with the dreams, and the abilities to turn those dreams into reality.
For as long as this desire remains, we will strive to turn out young creators to the society, who are equipped to create a future greater than we can imagine.
In 1965, a sign was hung outside a small building in Ebisu, reading “Vantan Design Institute”.
This building had only a single door, and our founder, Kenzo Kikuichi, painted it bright red.
Many creators have come and gone through this door, and left to find their place in various parts of the world.
They all felt that the door was a way into an unimaginable future.
The red of the Vantan School Logo is the color of the door that so many creators have opened.
